Luke's Doublets and the Synoptic Problem

Abstract The Synoptic Gospels contain a significant number of so-called doublets, i.e. sayings or narratives which appear twice in one and the same Gospel. Since nineteenth century these doublets have functioned as classical argument favour existence Q. Focusing on treatments Luke's within contemporary rivalry between Farrer hypothesis two-document hypothesis, present article contributes to not-Q-biased discussion evidence. While adherents should not overestimate force doublet-based arguments, defenders pay greater attention creation elimination part alleged redactional activity.
